On the first all-LGBTQ+ trip to the White Continent, a "kaboodle" of drag queens take over Antarctica.

Imagine trying to dress warmly while wearing a dress, wig, and full face of makeup while travelling to a location as cold as Antarctica. It is tough enough to dress warmly while travelling to a place as cold as Antarctica. This is exactly what happened when a large group of drag queens travelled to the White Continent intending to plant a flag in support of the LGBTQ community.

This was the first-ever all-LGBTQ+ expedition cruise to Antarctica, which sailed on December 7 and was sponsored by LGBTQ-friendly vacation charter business Vacaya aboard Ponant's Le Boreal. The event that took place was the culmination of the voyage.

You could find yourself asking, "But what the heck is a kaboodle of drag queens?" if you're unfamiliar with the term. During the trip, the passengers realised that there was no specific phrase to designate a group of colourful entertainers, so they came up with their own.

"Because there is no official term for a group of drag queens, we had a meeting with all the queens participating, and they brainstormed various terms," Patrick Gunn, co-founder and CMO of Vacaya, told The Points Guy. "We had a meeting with all the queens participating, and they brainstormed various terms." "They discussed a variety of terms before settling on "kaboodle" and "stiletto" as the two candidates for the position. In the end, the word "kaboodle" was selected."

The term is often spelt with a C instead of a K, and its meaning may be summarised as "everything," "all of it," or "the whole shebang." It may also mean "a collection of things," and considering that it was also the brand name for a famous line of beauty cases that was popular in the 1990s, I defy anybody to come up with a more accurate description for it than "a bunch of things."

VACAYA
When it came to chatting about the experience of travelling with other tourists who had similar interests, several of the other passengers on the trip felt as if they were at a loss for words.

Jacob Carson, a passenger on the ship, was quoted as saying in a statement that "words do not do justice" to Antarctica. "Being able to take part in this historic voyage with Vacaya and my gay family is beyond anything I could have ever imagined," she said.

The feeling was mirrored by the skipper of the Le Boreal, Florian Richard.

Richard added, "I got the opportunity to bring my spouse along on this Vacaya excursion to Antarctica," and he was very thankful for that. Even though I play a position that is considered to be on the "front page," it was an amazing experience to be able to kiss him in front of all of the guests and staff without fear of being criticised.

"It's taken over 200 years of Antarctic exploration to get here, but with Vacaya, the LGBT+ community has now officially left their mark on the 7th continent," said Randle Roper, one of the co-founders of Vacaya, in a statement. "Vacay" is an acronym for "Let's Go on Vacation," which is the name of the company. "The importance of this trip is just beginning to sink in with the men, women, and non-binary explorers that accompanied Vacaya on this first-of-its-kind expedition. Although we had a fantastic time on the adventure, the significance of this voyage is only starting to sink in. Their journey with us will provide them with a narrative of discovery, camaraderie, and LGBT+ history that they will be able to pass down through the generations."
