Have a yearning to experience travel as it was during its heyday? When two rebuilt railroad cars from one of the country's most historic trains make their homecoming the following month, history aficionados and train enthusiasts will soon have the chance to embark on the journey of their dreams. This opportunity will give them the chance to travel back in time.

Train aficionados will have the opportunity to experience a trip back in time in February according to a recent announcement made by the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey. The Society will be reintroducing two restored historic train cars that were originally built in 1948. The 20th Century Limited was a luxury passenger train that operated from 1902 to 1967. These antique cars were previously a part of that train. The 20th Century Limited was a train that operated often between Grand Central Station in New York City and Chicago. Famous people such as Marilyn Monroe and Walt Disney were known to ride on this train. 1

Through its Hudson River Rail Excursions, the company, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, will now give tourists the chance to see the train that was previously referred to as "the favourite train of renowned people."

2 On February 10, the historically significant cars will make their way back to New York City. They will leave the Moynihan Train Hall at Pennsylvania Station and proceed to the Rensselaer Station in Albany before making their way back.

Between the 10th and the 14th of February, there will be five departures of the trains, with the first one leaving New York City at 11:20 in the morning and the last one arriving in Albany at 1:50 in the morning afternoon. The return train will leave Albany at 3:30 in the afternoon, and it will arrive back in New York at 7:05 p.m. There is currently a sale of 3 tickets.

The Hickory Creek, a former observation car that was known as the train's most exclusive spot to see and be seen, and the Tavern Lounge No. 43, which was the equivalent of a lounge car and allowed passengers to socialise away from their ticketed seats, are the two historic cars that travellers have the option of selecting from when they board the train. Tickets are available for either $399 or $299 per person, and they include hors d'oeuvres, a complete meal, as well as beer and wine.

This September, the company will also be offering a one-of-a-kind five-day excursion from New York to Chicago aboard a reconstruction of the original 20th Century Limited for customers who are interested in having the most genuine experience possible. This overnight event, which includes everything, will cost $2,500 per traveller and will take place between September 17 and September 21. Tickets are anticipated to be put up for sale in the near future.
